New Sat Nav badge for Scouts in the UK

Interesting piece here about the new badge, including some mixed opinions about its relevance. There are some valid concerns that sat nav will replace older orienteering techniques, though I can’t see the Scouts abandoning non-electronic orienteering and map skills. GPSrs, no matter how expensive and sophisticated they may be, can fail – outdoor enthusiasists should never underestimate the usefulness of a compass and a map! The new badge requirements do involve geocaching.
