A few more pictures!

You can view more pictures from my trip in this slideshow.

Stately Oaks - Jonesboro, GA

An old plantation house in Jonesboro, Georgia (the setting of Gone With the Wind). In August, the house is dressed inside and out to demonstrate mourning customs in the mid-to-late 1800s.

Patrick Cleburne Cemetery - Jonesboro, GA

Patrick Cleburne Cemetery in Jonesboro, Atlanta. This is a mass grave containing around 1000 Confederate soldiers from the Battle of Jonesboro (preceded the fall of Atlanta during the Civil War). Most of the soldiers names are unknown. The unmarked, marble headstones and pathways are arranged to form a Confderate battle flag. At the centre of the cemetery are some marked headstones containing the names and ranks of soldiers whose deaths at Jonesboro can be confirmed with historical documents.
