Historical Society Upset About Geocaching

It’s unfortunate when people are too narrow-minded to see the potential benefits of geocaching. This story is an excellent example of a kneejerk reaction to geocaching that will likely destroy any opportunity for future partnerships between this historical group and local geocachers.

Ironically, the director of Sheffield Village Historical Society is also Professor Emeritus of Earth Sciences at Ohio State. *palm forehead*

It wouldn’t take much effort to find out what the offending cache is, and sort out whether or not they did have permission to place the cache. Placing caches on private property without permission is against the guidelines. If the cachers claim to have permission, perhaps there’s been a miscommunication somewhere.
