Rideau Canal is Open!

Today I ran out and grabbed two canal caches that are only accessible by boat, or by crossing the ice in winter. The first was The Glebe: Patterson Creek (GC1FEHR), and the other was Oink! (GCTFGQ). Today was a good day to go on the canal. It was mild, so the ice was a little mushy on top, and therefore easy to walk on (the NCC keeps tabs on the ice every day to make sure it’s safe for the public).

  1. so cool… I wouldn’t have thought about waiting until a good freeze to go get one like that! lol
