NCC’s Gatineau Park Restrictions

Someone who calls himself “Sébastien” has left a very irresponsible comment on this blog post, encouraging other geocachers to antagonize the NCC by placing geocaches in the restricted areas of Gatineau Park.

If you disagree with the new policies, ignoring the rules is not an appropriate reaction. Your geocaches are unlikely to be approved anyway, and even if they somehow slip through the cracks and get published, your actions will reflect badly on the entire geocaching community.

This game relies on cooperation in order to work. Please think about your actions and the way they stand to impact others.

I haven’t had a chance to sit down and flesh out my thoughts on this topic, but my friend Gordon Dewis has written some comprehensive posts about this issue.
